About this Website

Created by a small investor this website is about pooling the knowledge of many other investors so that we can all help each other as a community.

If you are considering investing, in an ideal world you would take professional advice.  And this website is in no way meant as a replacement for such advice.  If you can afford professional advice you really should consider taking it.  Though if the potential gains of the investment are outweighed by the cost of such advice you are in a difficult situation.  You can either try to do your own best research, or walk away from the opportunity.  The latter option of walking away is always something you should consider especially if the opportunity seems too good to be true, as there will always be other opportunities.

If the investment you are considering involves a large sum of money you can often justify the cost of employing professional services, as the cost of those services is small in relation to the potential investment.  However as investors we should be keen to spread our risk by diversifying our investing into various opportunities and not placing all our money in just one or two investment(s).  So there's a dilemma for people starting out with a limited amount of capital.  Do you seek advice that could cost as much as or more than what you stand to gain from the investment, or do you try to do your own due diligence research?

This website has been designed to build a community to help people in their due diligence research.  It's not about providing advice, and nothing on this website should be considered as professional advice.  Equally if you choose to join this community and provide information via this website it should not be in the form of advice.  Anything provided should be just factual information and ideally with the external source of that information provided.  That way other users of this website can follow up with their own research into the trustworthiness of the information and sources.

Additionally because the site is intended to try to spot / avoid scams, and by definition stop the people behind those scams we need to be careful about our privacy.  We want to avoid potential retribution from criminals who might be denied an opportunity to scam and defraud people.  To that end the site operator has decided that they, and all the users joining the website will only need to provide a minimal amount of personally identifiable information, such that they can remain as anonymous as practicable.  This further backs up the need for the the information provided here to be as factual as possible, avoiding personal opinion or disparaging comments.  It is critical that the authority and integrity of the information is of the highest possible standard, for it to be useful to others.

In addition to the community element, the website will attempt to link to specific resources related to investments from various external sources such as governmental registers of companies etc...

If you have any ideas for future development of the website please check out the roadmap page and send us a message via the contact page.
